Research & validation

Built on peer-reviewed research, validated on utility models.

OptiVolt originates from MSc research at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje (FEEIT, 2024) on voltage regulation through optimised smart-inverter control.

Simulation results

Elektro Ljubljana distribution model

1,616 nodes · 110/20/0.4 kV · with PV

Overvoltage node near PV
1.065 → 1.012 p.u.
Undervoltage node in PV micro-grid
0.918 → 0.958 p.u.
Computation time
76 s, office PC

Elia–TenneT transmission model

19 busbars · 10.5–400 kV · voltage-control shunts off

Busbars within ±5%
3 → 19 of 19
Active power losses
−21%

Results are steady-state simulations on utility network models (TRL 4). The next step is a pilot on real feeders to reach TRL 5.
